Why in News

The UDAN scheme has operationalised 669 routes, connected 95 airports, conducted over 3.50 lakh flights, and served 1.66 crore passengers, significantly expanding regional air connectivity across India.

  • Researchers used machine learning and data from more than 16,000 soil samples collected worldwide.
  • The study estimates that underground AM fungal networks extend across nearly 110 quadrillion kilometres of hyphae.
